Some changes to Tagfile:
05-28-93
DIZ files were not being created properly. Corrected this problem.
Removed Delays - Hopefully folks will be considerate enough to consider
a contribution if they use this utility without being nagged... Please
consider doing so yourself.
02-26-93
Enhanced File Tagging capabilities allowing changing of directories
from within the tagger.
02-16-93
Added capability of Naming where your tagged list will be placed
by passing the path and name of the list to HSLTAG when loading
it. If nothing is passed then HSLTAG will default to its current
subdirectory and use the name send.lst.
Example: HSLTAG E:\WORK\APPLES.LST
02-13-93
1. Added some screen clearing routines on exiting - screens not clearing
properly.
2. Reduced Code in some routines.
3. Users sometimes not being prompted to delete file list upon exiting if
option was set to yes. Corrected this problem.
02-12-93
Windows Tweeking for Procomm Plus:
1. New configuration option for Fossil Support in calling HS/Link. Some
systems have difficulties with HS/Link operation when in Windows 3.+.
In instances where we have tested this the fossil driver has made
a difference. One fossil which has tested OK is X00.SYS by Ray Gwin.
The last official release of X00 is X00V124.ZIP. You will find other
later versions floating around in the BBS world but the author, Ray
Gwinn, has not posted those releases on his BBS. Other reliable
Fossil drivers are BNU and OPUSCOMM. Your command switches will
be best set as follows in your config.sys:
┌ X00.SYS───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ Locks Port 1 at 38400 with 8192 Transfer and Receive buffers at │
│ 8192. These buffers should not total to exceed the maximum buffer │
│ size set in Procom Plus. DV = uses DESQview Time slicing: │
│ │
│ Device=x00.sys E 1 T=8192 R=8192 B,0,38400 DV │

┌ OPUSCOMM.COM ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐

└───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
If using Procomm for Windows set buffer in your comm port setup at the
highest level. HS/Link tested best with Transfer blocks set for 1024
in HSCONFIG.EXE and Idle method on page 3 of HSCONFIG set to 0.
When you call HS/Link using the F4 key and you have indicated there
is a fossil in use on your system TAGFILE will search your path
for FHSLINK.EXE. Be sure you have this file placed in your path
or in your current directory.
2. More cleaning up of screen writes, spelling and other things not
effecting the operation but the look of TAGFILE and its messages.
02-10-93
1. Removed Display of Upload preparation and offline commands from menu
when PGDN is pressed to display download commands. Menu more clearly
reflects available commands.
02-08-93
Major Rewrite of Tagfile.
These changes were implemented in consultation with Samual P. Smith,
author HS/Link (C)
1. Major Display enhancements.
2. Configuration Program added.
3. Send Command Removed
4. DIZ editing Greatly enhanced. Checks files for DIZ and SDI files
5. Before allowing creation of those files so not to overwrite originals.
6. Greater code optimization.
7. Access to HSCONFIG.EXE
8. More error trapping and messages added to aid in ease of operation.
01-18-93
1. Fixed HotKey so HS/Link will be called if files are tagged or not.
2. Made Minor display Changes (Recommendatiions encouraged!).
01-16-93
1. Code optimized. More to come.
2. Hotkey for HS/Link added. TAGFILE shells directory to HSLINK
without prompting.
3. Hotkey for DSZmodem added. TAGFILE shells directory to DSZ
without prompting.
4. Added parmeter to specify way in which TAGFILE shells to its tagger.
This MUST be line 16 in the configuration file (DGS.DEF).
1 = The tagger defaults to the subdirectroy listed on the
next line with a *.* argument. If subdirectory is
not listed on the next line or the subdirectory is not
found the tagger defaults to the current subdirectory
With a *.* argument.
2 = Same as above except you are prompted for filespecs e.g.
R*.ZIP etc. Wildcards may be used.
3 = Prompts are provided for both the subdirectory and the file
specifications as in our original releases.
5. Added parameter to specify which subdirectory the tagger should
shell to. This MUST be line 17 in the configuration file (DGS.DEF).
6. The above mentioned new parameters are not required for TAGFILE to
operate. They, when used, simply streamline the use of TAGFILE and
help to eliminate annoying prompts.
7. Update on the "O" command. This creates a file which is compatible
on RBBS-PC buletin board systems which use Dan Shore's RBATCH batch
upload processor. Descriptions can be entered to replace the line
that says "File description goes here." We are planning further
updates to this increasing capabilities of this feature in TAGFILE.
Thanks to Mike Siegel for his contribution of ideas.
11-01-92
Requested enhancements: Delete ascii list of tagged files after transfers
additional line added to DGS.DEF to make this optional. See sample.dgs
03-02-92
1.) the A command has been added. This is for adding
a single file to your batch upload list w/o using
the Tagger ( DIRN.EXE ). If Tagfile does not find
the file it will not add it to the list.
2.) the O command is not yet functional on any BBSs but
is in preparation for a new feature to be added to
the RBBS batch upload interface.
3.) When loading Tagfile you can now tell it where to find
your configuration file as the first parameter passed
to it. I now load mine as follows:
TAGFILE C:\BOYAN\DGS.DEF
If a parameter is not passed it will look in the directory
you are calling TAGFILE from for its configuration file.
4.) DIZ editor has been added to correctly format your DIZ file
description to 10 lines and wrapping at 45 chars. Type F
to test this new feature. The OOP has increased the physical
size of the program but this should not cause problems in
shelling to it or from it to external protocols.
5.) Upload command changed to PGUP
6.) Download command changed to PGDN
7.) Last line of DGS.DEF is changed. "Y" if you want Moby Turbo
when using DSZ and "N" if not. TAGFILE now defaults to DESC.SDI
for creating internal file descriptions.
Please report any enhancements you would like to see.
